Our Doylestown Borough client contacted us when they decided to add a new wrap-around addition to their small, stone cottage that they had outgrown. Because the existing home had no front door entrance, the vehicular and pedestrian circulation to their newly- renovated home had to be re-defined to accommodate the new front porch entrance.

The outdoor design challenge was to integrate an inviting courtyard/parking area and front entrance walkway into the steeply sloping property. The “stream” was designed to naturally flow along the entrance walk providing interest to visitors. In the back area of the house, a terrace was installed for entertaining, including an outdoor spa nestled into the steep slope. The new screened-porch adjacent to the terrace, along with lush, new garden beds create a beautiful outdoor space with ample room for entertaining dozens of guests.  Other landscape features in the design are the raised veggie/herb garden, the children’s play area with a tree house and the complex storm-water drainage system makes this garden a wonderful family space enjoyed by all.
